Machias,
ME: July 2016
In July of 2016, a team of 34 packed up and headed north
to Machias, Maine. The
mission was 3 fold: a
construction crew to work on a men's Christian drug and alcohol recovery
home, another construction crew to work on a women's recovery home, and
a third team to transform a church into Noah's Ark, so that the
following week, over 100 children from this rural area, could come and
experience Vacation Bible School.
The photos show the building of a shed to house all the
wood that will be used for heating and providing hot water to the men's
home, and the repair and painting of the deck, walkway, and interior
room.
At the women's house, an entire second floor was
constructed, giving a space for women trying to get their lives turned
around, a place to sleep.
Lastly, the VBS pictures speak for themselves - the
creativity and amount of time put into this project went on for months,
but was so well-worth it! What
a fantastic team, and wonderful trip!
Many thanks to all who put in their time and effort all year long
to be a part of this team. God
bless you!
